The Blueprint for Black Wealth

The Blueprint for Black Wealth

Dr. Felicia Phillips celebrates 10 years of MogulCon, a movement that has built community, opened doors, and propelled thousands of Black women toward business success and wealth.

Ten years ago, Dr. Felicia Phillips envisioned a gathering that would do more than inspire-it would equip. That vision became MogulCon, a business experience designed to connect entrepreneurs, primarily Black women, with the tools, capital, and relationships needed to thrive.

Today, more than 6,000 entrepreneurs have passed through its doors. For many, it has been the turning point in their journey-the moment when an idea became a thriving business, when access to opportunity became possible, and when entrepreneurship became not just survival but a pathway to wealth.

Investing in the Community

What makes MogulCon’s story even more remarkable is Phillips’ personal commitment.

She hasn’t just led from the front-she has funded from the front.

“I’ve invested over a million dollars of my own money because I know how important this is to our community,” Dr. Phillips explains.

That kind of investment underscores her unwavering belief that entrepreneurship can transform communities. For Phillips, it’s not about fanfare-it’s about results.

“I prefer to be a quiet giant because I know that’s when you get things done,” she explains. “That has afforded me to change the trajectory of people who look like me. Change the trajectory of their lives and help them to build wealth.”

Her quiet power has translated into loud results: entrepreneurs gaining contracts, businesses scaling to create jobs, and families beginning to build generational wealth.

The Power of Relationships

Unlike many conferences that rely on big-name sponsors or glossy campaigns, MogulCon has grown through authenticity and outcomes. Its credibility comes from what happens after the event -businesses strengthened, capital secured, and connections turned into contracts.

Phillips points to one thing as the foundation of its success:

“If I had to point to one thing that’s been the success of MogulCon, I’ve got some great relationships and people who believe in the work because they see the outcomes of what we do.”

Those relationships have fueled partnerships with organizations like the U.S. Small Business Administration and CDFIs, opening doors to capital and resources. But even more importantly, they’ve built trust among entrepreneurs who know MogulCon delivers.

A Room That Moves You Forward

At its core, MogulCon is about creating access – putting entrepreneurs face-to-face with people who can help them grow. It’s a carefully curated environment where every connection matters.

As Dr. Felicia puts it: “When you come to MogulCon, I’m putting you in front of those people that can move your business forward. The rest is really up to you.”

That mindset is what makes MogulCon more than an event. It’s an experience that holds entrepreneurs accountable to take action, not just absorb information. Attendees leave not only motivated but also equipped – with strategies, resources, and the right contacts to execute.

A Legacy in Motion

Reaching a 10-year milestone is proof of MogulCon’s staying power, but for Dr. Phillips, it’s also a reminder of the bigger picture. Her mission has never been about hosting a conference for conference’s sake. It has always been about economic empowerment – building wealth, creating jobs, and ensuring Black entrepreneurs are seen and supported.

The ripple effects of MogulCon are visible in the stories of transformation: businesses that went from side hustles to six-figure enterprises, entrepreneurs who secured funding after years of being overlooked, and women who left with not just knowledge, but community.

The Road Ahead

As MogulCon enters its second decade, its foundation remains clear – relationships, resources, and results. Dr. Felicia Phillips’ work continues to prove that when entrepreneurs are given the right tools and the right connections, they don’t just build businesses. They build futures.

Quietly, powerfully, and consistently, she has turned her vision into a movement. And for thousands of entrepreneurs, the last ten years of MogulCon have been life-changing.
