In a move solidifying its dedication to fostering diversity and economic opportunity, Disney Experiences has announced a significant expansion of its support for the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE). This renewed commitment includes a third-year sponsorship of RICE’s Supply Chain Accelerator Program (SCAP) and a new investment in the development of Digital RICE, a virtual platform poised to empower Black entrepreneurs nationwide.
“Disney’s ongoing partnership with RICE is a testament to their unwavering commitment to fostering a more inclusive and equitable business landscape,” said Jay Bailey, President and CEO of RICE. “Their support not only equips Black entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive, but also sends a powerful message about the importance of investing in diverse talent.”
The Supply Chain Accelerator Program, a cornerstone initiative of RICE, equips Black entrepreneurs with the skills and resources necessary to secure contracts and build successful relationships with major corporations, including Fortune 500 companies. Disney’s continued sponsorship of SCAP ensures its accessibility to aspiring entrepreneurs, providing them with invaluable mentorship, networking opportunities, and practical guidance to navigate the complex world of corporate procurement.
Furthermore, Disney’s investment in Digital RICE marks a groundbreaking step towards expanding RICE’s reach beyond Atlanta. This virtual platform will provide Black entrepreneurs nationwide with access to a wealth of resources, including educational materials, business development tools, and a supportive online community. Digital RICE promises to bridge geographical barriers, democratizing access to crucial support and fostering collaboration among Black entrepreneurs across the country.
“At Disney, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential,” said Ralph Sagaille, Director of Supplier Diversity and Development at Disney Experiences. “Our partnership with RICE aligns perfectly with our commitment to fostering economic opportunity and creating a more inclusive business ecosystem. We are proud to support the development of both SCAP and Digital RICE, and we are confident that these programs will empower countless Black entrepreneurs to build successful businesses and contribute to the economic vitality of our communities.”
Disney’s increased support for RICE programs represents a significant milestone in the ongoing fight for economic equity for Black entrepreneurs. With a total contribution exceeding $1 million, Disney has established itself as a leading champion of diversity and inclusion within the business world. The company’s commitment to SCAP and Digital RICE promises to empower generations of Black entrepreneurs, paving the way for a more vibrant and equitable economy for all.
