Chef Rob’s Cafe & Bar has been a staple in the Atlanta area for over 17 years. The restaurant is located in Sandy Springs, Georgia, and is known for its Caribbean-inspired cuisine and cultural atmosphere. Chef Rob’s journey to Sandy Springs began in Jamaica, where he was born and raised. He then moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he discovered his passion for cooking as a teenager.
He went on to study at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park before landing a job at Justin’s, one of New York’s hottest restaurants in the 1990s owned by music impresario Sean “Diddy” Combs.
After working at Justin’s for some time, Diddy had the idea to take the restaurant to Atlanta. Chef Robert Gayle followed and found himself in Buckhead. With a young family at the time, he wanted to set down roots and Sandy Springs was a natural fit. Chef Rob’s Cafe & Bar offers a melting pot menu of international influences with a Caribbean twist. The restaurant is known for its jerk chicken, oxtails, and curry goat. Chef Rob also offers catering services for events such as weddings, corporate events, and private parties.
The restaurant has gained popularity among celebrities such as Ludacris, Lil Jon, and T.I. Chef Rob has also been featured on several television shows such as “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “Cutthroat Kitchen.”
