R&B Legend Anthony Hamilton Talks New Music, Mentoring JxHines and His Future Plans

Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer Anthony Hamilton recently spoke with The Grio’s Marc Lamont Hill about his career, the current state of R&B, and his new artist, JxHines.

Hamilton began his music career in the early 1990s, releasing his debut album, Comin’ from Where I’m From, in 1996. The album was a critical and commercial success, spawning the hit singles “Charlene” and “Can’t Let Go.” Hamilton has since released nine additional studio albums, all of which have been met with critical acclaim. He has also won numerous awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for his song “You Got the Love.”
